Job Summary
Opportunity to get involved in the early stages of data warehouse development. This role will be responsible for the design, development, testing and deployment of their data warehouse and data mart solutions. This person will work closely with various functional teams to translate business requirements into optimized reporting systems and design/ develop appropriate dimensional modeling and presentation layers.
This position develops and implements systems to meet the information reporting needs of the business. This position will also contribute to the development of the data warehouse strategy including being involved in all phases of the systems development life cycle; resolution of issues with existing systems; and providing technical guidance to other team members.
Job Responsibilities.
Responsible for developing business intelligence and reporting solutions that help end users access and analyze data in the data warehouse, data mart, or operational systems.
Meet with end users to document business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
Work with end users and IT functional staff to identify, prioritize, and implement data elements to be integrated with the Data Warehouse.
Solution Development of using Cognos: Framework Manager; Report Studio; Query Studio; Metric Studio; Analysis Studio
Maintain existing reporting environment
Support a solution released to Production
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Proficiency in SQL and developing complex queries
Proficiency in creating PL/SQL procedures
Strong analytic, problem solving, and collaborative skills; experience in business requirements gathering; knowledge of standard system development lifecycle concepts.
Basic understanding on business intelligence and data warehousing concept
Extensive experience with Oracle
Understanding of dimensional models, analytics and reporting, business analysis, data analysis, logical data modeling highly desirable.
Experience with Crystal Reports 10
Knowledge of Accounting and Finance concepts highly desirable
Experience with PowerBuilder, Sybase, and PeopleSoft Financials are a plus
Excellent written and communication skills.
EQUIVALENT EDUCATION LEVEL REQUIRED:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
5+ years experience in BI/Reporting development
5+ years developing reporting solutions using SQL and PL/SQL
Degree in Computer Science and multiple years related work experience.
Excellent communication skills
Strong analytic and problem solving skills
Ability to handle several assignments simultaneously
2+ years experience developing frameworks using Cognos 8 Business Intelligence platform
