Published Description:

Minneapolis based company is looking for a Business Analyst to work on two projects spending approximately 50% of the time on each. One of the projects involves EDI and XML and the goal of the other project is to create complex reports utilizing data from JDE and other sources. BA will be interacting with key leaders in the assigned business unit. Strong, professional interpersonal skills will be required. Expected contract length of around 9 months.

Desired:

· Knowledge of EDI, XML, reporting capabilities and JDE

Responsibilities:

· Analyze user needs, document specifications, and translate business objectives into proper system requirement specifications.

· Guide business through business case development for new applications/functionality, including cost / benefit analysis and risk / impact analysis.

· Quantify business benefits to be delivered by the project or enhancement.

· Formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with a good understanding of business systems, industry requirements and available IT solutions.

· Take ownership of QA and acceptance testing of projects.

· Map requirements to design elements and test cases.

· Provide test plans, test cases, perform functional testing and assure proper user acceptance testing.

· Provide new user training on supported applications as requested.

· Work closely with all IT and business organizations to drive projects to successful completion.

· Proactively maintain an understanding of the business processes.

Qualifications:

· Minimum of 3 years of business systems analyst experience.

· Practical experience with MS Office products and Visio.

· Experience in business process definition, requirements definition, data mapping, defining reports, testing and setting expectations.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Process mapping and systemic thinking ability.

· General knowledge of system development methodologies.

· Ability to solve complex problems.

· Strong analytic skills with attention to detail.

· Strong project management and leadership skills.
