Essential Responsibilities:
We are looking for a software engineer to focus on Performance Analysis and Engineering, as part of our platform development team.
You will work in a team of Software Engineers, Quality Engineers, User Interaction Design Engineers, Software Architects, and the Product Owner team.
In this role you will:
• Build software and frameworks to measure product performance.
• Understand the business requirements and establish key benchmarks for various components of the product.
• Define and execute Load/Stress/Performance scenarios to reflect the KPIs captured.
• Analyze the results of the performance scenarios and make code changes in the product to improve performance.
• Deliver sizing documents that guide Administrators in choosing the right system topology for using the platform in production.
• Ensure Implementation meets design objectives.
• Work with a 5-9 member team through the agile development cycle.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering OR "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
• Minimum of 7 years experience in software development.
• Minimum of 3 years experience with Java programming languages.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
• Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA.
• Must be willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be willing to travel.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Client will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
Desired Characteristics:
• Understanding of software design implications on performance.
• Experience with Performance Engineering and Analysis.
• Knowledge of OOD, software design patterns and principles.
• Good understanding of the constituents of Sizing guide and the scenarios needed to arrive at the required metrics.
• Write high quality code using test-driven development (TDD) practices.
• Ability to use a load testing framework like LoadRunner/JMeter to simulate loads on a system.
• Experience with application profiling tools like JProfiler, Intrascope, Strong knowledge of J2EE.
• Strong JPA, JTA, JMS and Spring framework.
• Knowledge of key performance metrics in distributed service oriented architectures.
• Knowledge of SOA based development and Cloud computing.
• Strong knowledge of Web Service, XML technologies (SOAP, JAXB, WSDL, XML).
• Experience with Oracle SQL.
• Strong problem solving abilities.
• Experience working with Agile software development methodologies.
• Able to work under minimal supervision.
• Encourages input from all members of the team.
• High energy, results driven person with strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with more senior co-workers and leadership with confidence and clarity.
• Able to energize teams through inclusiveness and connection with people.
