Candidate will come and help chose the right S/W.
Someone who know manufacturing systems will be involved in business requirements gathering and documentation
Job Summary
The Manufacturing Application Engineer works under moderate supervision and is responsible for all facets of the application lifecycle management for complex software solutions in a process manufacturing environment. Manufacturing Application Engineer will also perform project management functions for medium to large-sized projects. Focus area's include: manufacturing execution systems (MES) and the integration to ERP solutions.
Competencies
• Provides Project Management leadership.
• Ensures that all projects adhere to standard practices of application lifecycle management methodology.
• Configures applications within an MES environment with a focus on integrated ERP applications (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics AX, Ross, Oracle) to drive best practices throughout the organization.
• Acts as technical resource to operating department managers regarding information technology use.
• Collaborates with and technically mentors junior members of the department both informally and within the project framework.
• Ensures that all applications deliver a consistent high level of quality, minimizing program bugs and/or inefficiencies through standardized testing procedures.
• Coordinates efforts across all I.S. groups and ensures full communication of project-related work to these groups.
• Provides technical support for all applications as necessary, both during and after project completion.
Leadership
• Understands the common goals of the company.
Technical Knowledge Requirements
• Demonstrates aptitude for integration of technology with business process needs.
Qualifications: Education & Work Experience
• An associate's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or related discipline is required.
• Actual work experience should be 3-5 years hands on experience with information technology and manufacturing execution systems (MES) defined for:
o Product data acquisition
o Resource management
o Production scheduling processes from Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or specialized Advanced planning and scheduling systems
o Production orders dispatching and execution
o Production definition management
o Production performance analysis
• Applied understanding of multiple level relationships of industrial control and management systems design, processing, data collection, integration, and reporting with particular experience for levels 3 and 4:
o Design and supply of systems for planning, recipe management, scheduling, track and trace, quality record management.
o Interfaces to ERP systems (SAP MII preferred) and other business management systems such as lab information (LIMS), warehouse management (WMS), customer relationship management (CRM), human resource management (HRMS), labor management (LMS), maintenance management (CMMS), and supply chain management (SCM).
o Middleware and business-to-manufacturing markup language integration (B2MML) definition, methods, and systems.
• Working knowledge of relational databases and associated tools, and SQL language for data structuring and data access methods.
• Senior level knowledge of one or more programming languages for program development. These include C#, C++, C, Visual Basic, Java, or other object-oriented and scripting languages. Experience may also include use of procedural languages, ASP, and .net framework.
• Ability to apply skill set in working with manufacturing clients to identify solutions, develop software, and deliver projects successfully.
