Working to combat one of the most innovative and fastest growing industries that is global financial crime, Client Technologies is looking for a Technical Consultant to join its expanding team. Located in Reston, VA and Boston MA the successful candidate will be key asset to the Services team, responsible for the end-to-end implementation of our J2EE software solutions in high-performance batch and real-time environments
Context:
Technical Consultants provide critical knowledge to an implementation by understanding the technical requirements and tools necessary to implement, upgrade, administer, support and extend Client applications. As a Client Technical Consultant you will:
· support the Client project team by documenting technical architecture and data management requirements captured during client meetings
· support the client organization during interface design and data mapping.
· create the Client development environment mirroring the hardware and software stack to be used on client site
· be responsible for the management of source control on the project
· test the data management infrastructure
· support the client organization during testing
· mentor and train the Client Associate Consultant
Key Accountabilities/Outputs:
· Participates in the technical workshops during the initiation and definition stages of project
· Trouble-shoots environmental issues that arise in the course of deploying/configuring software
· Takes responsibility for the source control process on projects
· Deploys Client application releases onto the Client project environment both in Client and on client site when required
· Performance tunes the Client application before delivery to client and during the client's performance testing phase of project
· Identifies improvements to our software, processes or supporting documentation
· Provide the highest level of support and are available for escalation of any technical problems that might occur on a project.
· Actively supports the internal quality assurance cycles to ensure a high quality deliverable
Key Performance Indicators:
· Ability to meet deadlines with high quality output
Qualifications:
Graduate in IT/Engineering discipline
Skills/Knowledge:
- Minimum 2 years post graduate experience in technical role – programming, technical/IT support, software installation
- Able to analyse issues and define high level solutions and provide technical strategy recommendations for clients. Extensive technical trouble shooting skills
- Previous knowledge of installing software, creating test environments
- Good? knowledge of SQL and in-depth experience of databases such as Oracle, DB2, SQL Server or Teradata and performance tuning at a database level
- Good? knowledge of application servers such as Websphere, Weblogic, Apache Tomcat, JBoss
- Good knowledge of Unix (Solaris, AIX, Linux, HPUX)
- Understanding of Java and J2EE architectures
- Knowledge of XML and real time messaging queues and systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a determined approach to own work
- Flexibility and ability to take the initiative on issues
- Ability to manage own time efficiently
