Position: Oracle Developer

Location:  Omaha, NE (LOCAL CANDIDATES - Green card/citizen)

Duration: 6 month contract-to-hire

Position Description

The Senior Application Developer is responsible for evaluating and deploying internal and external solutions while adhering to standards, procedures and practices; providing input to plans and estimates for completing work; and following system development life cycle to provide software solutions. Determines how existing applications, systems, databases, interfaces and / or hardware can work together to meet new and emerging enterprise initiatives.

Responsibilities

1. Lead projects of various size and scope 

2. Assumes lead role in formulating and implementing plans, job schedules, and estimates for completion of projects and solutions 

3. Supports and adheres to Lincoln Financial IT project management standards and processes, including change control and project management methodology on projects 

4. Provides technical expertise in researching, designing, implementing and maintaining business application solutions.

5. Understands complex business / technical problems and opportunities and identifies potential application solutions. Can conceptualize complex system solutions before full details are known.

6. Partners with business to ensure that systems are designed, developed and implemented from a business point of view. Works effectively with peers and associates across the technology organization 

7. Works with business partners to develop test plans 

8. Participates in quality assurance checks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of program changes 

9. Operates within established change control procedures and adhere to and help develop needed standards, procedures and practices 

10. Investigates and resolves problems providing support for production systems in a timely manner 

11. Acts as a mentor 

12. Actively works to increase knowledge of interdependent systems 

13. Participates in quality assurance checks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of program changes and that development adheres to IT standards 

14. Expertise in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development of Stored Procedures, Triggers, Procedures, Functions.

15. Experience with Oracle Forms development

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information systems or related field or equivalent work experience • 5 - 7 years related experience in an information systems environment • Knowledge of advanced business principles and strong knowledge of all phases of business application development and integration work • Knowledge of the client's businesses

Percentages:

Project Management 30 – 60%

Analysis and Design 50 – 75%

Programming 10 – 30%

Team Development 10 – 20%
