Business Analyst with ICD

The Client is looking for a Business Analyst to join their team for a 6 month contract opportunity. This person is being brought on board to help support the conversion from ICD-9 to ICD-10. GHP brought in Deloitte to complete their assessment from ICD-9 to ICD-10. This person will be assisting in the execution of post assessment from a business perspective.

 

The candidate will be required to meet with several departments within Geisinger Healthplan (Claims, Actuarial, Clinical Informatics, etc) to understand what codes are currently out there that need to be replaced. Once these codes are identified they will need to work with translation team to make sure they are translated correctly so no information is lost and there isn't a overall financial change. This person is going to be responsible for clearly demonstrating that the results of the conversion from ICD-9 to ICD-10 is revenue neutral. It's required by law that this conversion can be demonstrated and proven that it is revenue neutral.

 

This individual will be heavily involved from a business process perspective. On a day to day basis they will be meeting with business individuals to understand where the ICD 10 codes are that need to be translated. They will need to understand in what context the codes are being used (benefits, clinical, etc) and pass this information along to the translation team. Once translation is complete they will then be responsible for delivering those codes to the business and helping them with implementation.

 

Top 3 Skills:

1.) Healthcare Payer/Provider experience

2.) Previous ICD-9 to ICD-10 conversion experience

3.) Experience interacting with the business to drive the ICD 10 process. They do NOT want a technical PM with no business experience.
