Job Title: QA Engineer
Location: Rancho Bernardo, CA

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES 

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and abilities: 
• Experienced in planning and executing Black Box testing of internally-developed applications running in conjunction with 3rd party software and hardware 
• Hands-on experience in operating enterprise disk and tape storage devices, i.e., Oracle, Quantum, EMC Data Domain, IBM, etc. 
• Strong working knowledge of Storage, Networking & Fiber Channel Protocols, Devices, Theories and Field Concepts 
• Strong knowledge of Unix shell commands, database concepts and SQL 
• Knowledge in profiling, performance analysis and tuning 
• Must be able to test to hardware and software application specifications including test planning, usability and device testing 
• Problem solver, motivated self-starter, action and results oriented 
• Knowledge of software engineering practices and metrics 
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to internal processes 
• Strong interpersonal and communications skill set 
• Strong technical writing skills 
• Working knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field. 
• 3+ years experience in planning, creation, execution and analysis of functional & performance tests 
• 3+ years experience in performing UI, API and Device Certification in a data driven and/or enterprise environment 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 
• Experience with any Enterprise DBMS systems like Teradata, Oracle, DB2, MySQL, etc. 
• Strong working knowledge of Enterprise Storage, Networking & Fiber Channel Protocols, Devices, Theories and Field Concepts 
• Experience running backup applications such as NetBackup, Tivoli, NetVault 
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a dynamic team environment
