Title: VMWare Certified Wintel Consultant
Location: Commack, NY
Duration: 6 Months
Note:
Candidate will have to undergo drug/background test upon selection
Candidate needs to either reside close to Commack, NY as this position will be on-site and the candidate will be expected to face to face interview.
Position Description:
· The VMware ESX & blade server System Administrator will migrate VMware ESX 4 and 5 VMs to Cisco UCS.
· The Migrations will be from standalone ESX clusters to Cisco UCS and Cisco UCS to Cisco UCS.
· The VMware ESX & blade server System Administrator will be responsible for P2V migrations for Linux and Wintel based systems.
Technical and Experience:
· Minimum five years of experience with VMware ESX/ESXi,
· A VMware Certified Professional or more advanced certification
· VMware knowledge, including vCenter, ESXi, vDS, SRM, and Orchestrator
· Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining a VMware-based environment with at least two clusters and 30 hosts
· Networking knowledge, including VLANs, routing, VMware-based switching, and firewall concepts
· Comprehensive vSphere 4 and 5 implementation, administration, maintenance, and support of VMware ESX and vCenter in large scale environment.
· Comprehensive experience with Physical to Virtual (P2V) and Virtual to Virtual (V2V) migrations.
· Must be able to apply vCenter, ESX, and Windows patches/upgrades.
· Manage vCenter ESX clusters, including DRS and HA configurations.
· Familiar with vCenter networking concepts including trunking, VLANs.
· Comprehensive knowledge of Vmotion, Service Console and vCenter vDS.
· Must have knowledge of Cisco UCS and Client blade server implementation, administration, maintenance, and support.
· Comprehensive storage configuration experience for iSCSI and SAN storage, including boot from SAN, VMFS volumes, and RDM.
· Must be able to create, deploy, and maintain vCenter VM templates.
· Familiar with Microsoft Active Directory
· Familiar with Windows Server 2008 and 2003.
· Familiar with scripting and process installation
· Familiar with EMC PowerPath
· Familiar with backing up a VMware environment.
· Familiar with RedHat Linux.
