Position - Build and Package Engineer

Location – Dallas, TX

Duration - 6 months starting next Monday, with a chance of extension upto 1 year

Rate -$45/hr Corp-Corp

 

Job description – Build and Package engineer

 

Summary

This position focuses on software configuration and change management issues associated with product releases. This includes systems and release planning, estimation, execution, implementation and ongoing support. This individual works closely with the development and SQA teams to define and implement procedures for software version control and release throughout the product life cycle. The individual is responsible for the build of all software modules; support visual SourceSafe, and facilities change and product configuration management, including code version control and change reporting. This individual must understand and further develop applied concepts and processes as it relates to the software development life cycle. In support of the mission of satisfying all customers' requests, this position is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of all IT deliverables through a process of analysis, testing and evaluation IT initiatives and issues.

 

This individual will also coordinate with customer representatives in the release and configuration management roles to ensure both teams are synchronized on items such as naming conventions, content of releases, as well as communications regarding functional changes being delivered.

 

Prerequisites

B, BS or BA is required within a technical or business field

3+yrs software build/packaging experience

MS Team Foundation Server knowledge and experience

3+yrs install shield

3+yrs VB Script experience

1+years windows server 2003 administrative knowledge

Microsoft visual source safe administration

Programming skills are required (C#, C++, Perl).

Experience with CCNET

Retails store systems software experience a plus

Microsoft TFS experience

 

Specialized knowledge and skills

 

Hands on detailed oriented and have ability to provide appropriate solutions to problems and quickly adapt to changes and new ideas.

Advanced verbal and written communication skills

Ability to analyze complex problems, to interpret operational needs and to develop integrated creative solutions.

Skill in examining and re engineering operations and procedures formulations policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively in a team environment.

The incumbent could learn the job basics within 3 months.
