Job Title: Sr. Java Developer

Duration: 9-12 months

Location: Atlanta, GA (Locals need)

Position Description:
• Client is using cool technologies, such as, Web 2.0: Ajax, html5, semantic web, social networking
• Exposure to all aspects of video productions workflows including HD video files, lo-res proxy, playback to air, archives and media management
• You will be working with a cool agile teams (Small group feel - big company paycheck reliability)
• Working in a small, results driven team implementing top priority features for in house customers.
• Work on a highly integrated, 24/7 on-air production environment.
• Agile/Scrum, Self-organizing autonomous teams, Open Collaborative Space, Test Driven Development, Pair Programming
• Innovative Time Off (ITO) - time to work on individual special projects of your own

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• The Senior Java Developer develops software in object oriented languages like Java, C++, Objective C, C#, and/ or functional languages such as Erlang and/or Scala, along with using J2EE container technologies and JavaScript/Web 2.0.
• Develops automated tests including integration and regression tests.
• System architecture and design,
• Database design and object-to-relational mapping,
• Agile/Scrum planning and process improvement.
• Provides third tier support for production issues.

Qualifications:

- Ten or more years of application development experience - At least four years of Java/J2EE Open Source(Spring/Hibernate/Glassfish/Tomcat, etc.) experience
- At least three years’ experience building and delivering distributed systems that perform critical business or operational functions, preferably in a VERY high availability environment
- Four or more years’ experience developing systems with Oracle, DB2 or MySQL.
- Working knowledge of SQL
- Capable of spearheading and being responsible for an area of technology or product area with minimal or no supervision
- Can acquire and share new knowledge with teammates
- Excellent communications skills
- BS in Computer Science or related field required; MS in Computer Science or related field preferred .
