SQL developer
Location: Southfield MI (Local or nearby)
Duration: 3-6 months
SQL Server Software Developers
-Enhance and/or maintain existing applications. Lead eventual migration from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2008.
Required:
SQL Server Developer with experience writing/supporting T-SQL Stored Procedures, Triggers, Views, and Functions that also has experience creating DTS Packages in a SQL Server 2000 environment.
Nice to have:
SQL Server 2008
SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
Visual Basic 6
Responsibilities
----------------
Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of SQL Server databases providing vital business functions.
Responsible for latency troubleshooting and performance tuning.
Responsible for proactively monitoring the database systems to ensure minimum downtime.
Responsible for creating and retaining database backups as part of a data retention policy.
Responsible for implementation and release of database changes according to agreed upon timeframes.
Required Skills and Experience
----------------------------
Must have extensive experience with SQL Server 2000 and creating DTS packages.
Must have extensive experience creating and maintaining stored procedures.
Experience with SQL Server 2008 and creating SSIS packages is preferred.
Experience with SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services (SSRS) is a plus, but not required.
Experience with Java is a plus, but not required.
Strong written and verbal communications skills are required.
Must maintain a positive and professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
Must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong planning and organizational skills are required.
