Business Leader, Wallet & Payment Management Product Owner

RESPONSIBILITIES :

The Business Leader, Wallet and Payment Management Product Owner will be responsible for leading a joint Client product development team in the design, planning, product management and construction of UPay wallet and payment management services. This position will be responsible for working across the internal and external client organizations to identify and prioritize needs, and lead cross-functional team efforts internally at PlaySpan to develop new feature-sets to the evolution of the UPay platform.  The person filling this role is a seasoned Product Manager with a strong technical background with prior experience in payments or looking to learn payments and will manage the platform for digital and physical good payments.


Principle Responsibilities/Key Results Areas:

*             Serve as integral member of the UPay product development team(s) as the product owner for wallet and payment management services and features

*             Lead design of new features, assessment of merchant/consumer needs, conduct research and analyses and develop business cases to support product strategies and commercialization

*             Work closely with other team members to define, develop and implement the wallet and payment management features of the platform

*             Create User Stories (e.g., define requirements), feature specifications, and wireframes

*             Own the platform for payments working closely with the product development team

*             Maintain a prioritized backlog using agile methodology

*             Understand cross functional dependencies and work well with other teams to meet product goals

*             Be the primary contact for one or multiple Solutions Product Managers that would like to better understand the platform capability

*             Be able to create sample code and test that feature was implemented per specification independent of QA testing

*             Use metrics driven approach to building new features

*             Partner with everyone working on V.me and UPay platforms ensure alignment and consistency in product implementation and support of consumers and merchants using the services

*             Demonstrate leadership and ability to negotiate effectively with management internally at Client and externally with merchants, financial institutions, clients, and third party vendors

*             As needed, participate in educating the platform internal clients of interfaces supported by the platform and provide point of view on new technologies and products in the area of cross channel
              commerce and payment management


Key Relationships & Interactions:

*             Product management and software application/service development experience is required

*             Ability to interact with Client and client senior management on key client development activities

*             Work closely with merchants using (or interested in using) V.me or PlaySpan services

 

Qualifications:

*             B.S./B.A. degree; M.S  or equivalent advanced degree required

*             7-10 years related professional work experience, with at least 5 years strategy planning/ consulting, new product development, brand/product management experience or equivalent

*             Experience working in consumer and commercial payments is required, with in depth understanding of eCommerce, Mobile, Money Transfer/Personal Payments, Authentication and Identity
               Management and software technology platforms a strong plus

*             Understanding of payment processing, online banking and mobile banking platforms desired

*             Extensive cross-functional team leadership experience required with demonstrated results

*             High level of experience demonstrating understanding of business and product strategy and executing really well

*             Exceptional decision making abilities based on proven metrics, scoping internal and external sources

*             Proven Ability to work independently and anticipate deliverables needed as well as provide guidance and direction to other's attainment of goals and objectives

*             Excellent written and oral communication skills

*             Advanced proficiency on Microsoft products including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook


Business:

*             Must be a high-energy, motivated team player with the ability to effectively lead cross-functionally to drive projects and initiatives to completion

*             Ability to function autonomously, exercise sound decision-making skills, and serve as an advocate for Client's business goals and objectives

*             Relevant functional expertise and experience in client consulting, product management, project management, and business analytics required

*             End-to-end new product development experience, managing products or services from idea inception through development to launch and general marketplace availability

*             Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communications, be a creative thinker, solutions and results-oriented, customer focused, and have excellent analytical discipline

*             Demonstrate leadership and ability to negotiate effectively with management internally at Client and externally with key stakeholders

 

Technical:

*             Broad knowledge and understanding of Client's products, services, processing, systems and operations is desired

*             Ability to work with internal and external development teams and external partners to translate business requirements into technical product requirements
