[Outsource:61293] Urgent Sr.Windows Systems Administrator(MCSE) Need in HI, Rate: $60/hr 6-8 Months



Senior Systems Administrator:

 

· Plans, analyzes and provides periodic reports on the capacity, health and performance of all "productionalized" server and storage infrastructure.

· Responsible for managing and monitoring systems to ensure systems and daily activities are satisfied. Serves as a lead for the System Administrator team and IT Operations. Works with Service Desk or other support

  personnel to resolve Tier 2 and Tier 3 issues.

· Responsible for providing superior knowledge and primary technical support and administration of production file, web, application, database, and storage computing systems.

· Schedules, plans, and implements all changes to the hardware and software, following change control and security procedures.

· Develops, implements and maintains business continuity plans and ensures backup and recovery systems are monitored and performing optimally.

· Leads or assists implementation, replacement and upgrade of server and storage hardware, applications or operating systems.

· Keeps abreast of developments and trends and makes recommendations to ITD managers.

· Acts as the lead on projects in areas pertaining to the operational computing systems.

· Leads the investigation and research of defining alternative solutions to support operational requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

· Serves as the primary technical resource for system administration for server's operating system, hardware, storage systems and infrastructure. Handles complex second and third tier technical problems from System Administrators, Computer Operators, DBA, and Applications Support Analyst.

· Plans, researches, designs and directs the installation, configuration, documents, maintenance, operations, and optimizations of server and storage systems, the services they provide, the users they support and the software configurations.

· Participates in the integration of various applications and systems to create a seamless environment. Monitors the system administration activities in the Data Center and analyzes the overall health of all productions server and storage systems, making recommendations to the ITD managers based on benchmarks and evaluations.

· Provide technical leadership to the IT Operations team and serves on IT operational related taskforces to solve medium to high complexity issues. Fills in for the Manager, IT Operations during planned and emergency absences. Mentors Systems Administrators, Computer Operators, and other IT Operations staff.

· Provides computing systems technical knowledge and assistance. Provide instruction, documentation and guidance on day-to-day technical issues from the computer operators regarding the systems and peripheral devices.

· Review and perform research on proposed application and network changes that affects connectivity or access to the systems.

· Reviews IT management systems, activity logs and device statuses and when problem areas are detected, make recommendations to the Manager, IT Operations Support.

· When changes are made (add, change, and/or remove systems and components), responsible to ensure that it is done following appropriate change control processes and in alignment with the security and disaster recovery plans and for updating both plans where appropriate.

 

Required Qualifications:

· Extensive knowledge utilizing Microsoft Windows 2003 Server on a distributed server network

· Thorough knowledge of computing systems administration, concepts and terminology

· Experience in project management and budget administration

· Experience with development and implementation of processes and controls in a structured operating environment

· Demonstrate superior knowledge of network operating systems through certifications or equivalent experience

· Leadership skills and ability to work with a variety of individuals, occasional dealing with sensitive, difficult, or confrontational issues

· Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary to give clear instructions to staff and to prepare clearly written reports to management

 

Desired Qualifications:

· Microsoft Server certification (MCSE 2003, 2008

· Experience in working with an enterprise management system (Microsoft System Center, HP Openview, CiscoWorks)

· VMware certification (VCP)

· Experience in working with virtualization technologies (Microsoft Hypervisor)

· Experience in working with a SAN (HP, EMC)

· Experience in working with Windows servers, Apple servers and/or IBM AS400

Experience with process and control frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL and ISO
