Performance Load/Test QA Engineer
Location: Franklin, TN or Conshohocken, PA (Preference is for Franklin, TN)
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 3 months (with possibility for an extension up to 12months)
Job Description:
Position Overview: The performance test QA engineer will work closely with all software QA engineers in performance and load testing web based applications. The performance test QA engineer must have experience in performance testing (average, peak, endurance, and stress) using HP Performance Center and HP LoadRunner. The engineer must be able to author testing scripts, execute tests, analyze results, and present the results to stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have experience writing performance test plans, analyzing performance requirements, and leading performance initiatives. Candidates with experience performance testing stored procedures in addition to the above will be given a preference.
The candidate must be deadline driven and willing to own the performance testing initiative. The candidate must be capable of collaborating and working closely with architect team, development team, qa team, dba team, server team, and network team.
Performance Objectives/Job Duties
Establish improved performance and load test strategies
Develop, maintain, and execute automated performance and load test suites.
Report, monitor, and analyze automation test results
Work closely with development, architecture, dbas, server, and network team
Establish performance and load benchmark standards for both current and new products.
Execute and analyze performance tests for subsequent application releases
Interact with Development, production operations, infrastructure and other groups to present, isolate and resolve performance issues.
Design, implement and maintain automation test frameworks web applications
Support other QA engineers in using the automation frameworks and troubleshooting problems
Design, execute, and maintain Performance, Load, and Stress testing
Provide detailed estimates for allocated work items. Regularly report progress on allocated work including issues that threaten the quality or timeliness of the work
Participate in the continual improvement of the analytics and development processes and procedures implemented
Participate in the review of peers work
Experience and Skills:
· Experience and expertise with HP Performance Center and HP LoadRunner
· Experience with HP ALM and QTP
· Experience writing performance test strategies and test plans
· Good interpersonal and communication skills
Experience Requirements
· 3 or more years' experience developing, designing, coding and debugging performance tests
· Intermediate knowledge of performance and load tools and best practices within ASP.NET, Web Services, SQL Server,
· Travel up to 20%
