Rate: 50-53/Hr on C2C
Role: Teradata DBA
Location: Columbus, OH
Education:-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely-related (e.g. Math, Engineering)
Roles & Responsibilities:-
Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 database support
Monitor incident ticket queue and troubleshoot and resolve database incidents within SLAs
Monitor backup results and resolve/troubleshoot failed database backups
Monitor storage capacity and consumption, trend long term usage, and proactively work with Architecture group to plan capacity expansion
Monitor database and server performance and identify current and future potential bottle-necks - PDCR & DBQL
Review, maintain, and periodically test database recovery procedures
Monitor violations discovered by security compliance tool and remediate issues as needed
Review and support the installation of database maintenance & security patches and upgrade databases to supported release levels
Support application upgrades of third party software, where a database is a part of the vendor's implementation
Configure and maintain Viewpoint and TASM
Maintain documentation store of DBA operational policies and procedures
Qualifications:
5+ years experience as an Teradata DBA in a production environment highly desired
3+ years of experience in a team setting as a Teradata DBA, providing 24/7 support to mission-critical applications and databases
Solid and proven skills in managing database lifecycles - builds, patching, backups, recoveries, tuning
Strong familiarity with industry-standard monitoring, backup, and security tools
Experience with Viewpoint, TASM, PDCR and DBQL technologies
Desired/Plus:-
Experience with Oracle and/or DB2 UDB is a Plus
