Title:  Cognos Administrator

Job description: STG is a SEI CMMi Level 5 company with several Fortune 500 and State Government clients. STG has an opening for a Cognos Administrator to work 100% of the time in Farmington Hills, MI for their auto finance client. This is a long-term position, expected to be 3-5 years in duration.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring new and existing technology solutions are designed for optimal performance and ease of use.
• Applying appropriate architecture and design concepts to ensure solutions meet or exceed standards for scalability, security, reliability, maintainability, and availability.
• Identifying opportunities for improvement and making suggestions and implementing positive change.
• Administer, install and configure Cognos software updates and patches
• Collaborate with Data Warehouse team on design and best practices for BI consumption including relational and dimensional data modeling techniques.
• Develop interfaces using Cognos SDK
• Establish best practices for the BI environments and mentor development teams across technology and business
• Collaborate with hosting provider for supporting Cognos environment servers

 

Critical success factors include ensuring the availability, stability and performance of applications and working with business partners to define requirements and manage their expectations. In this

role the selected candidate will create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

Skills Required (Must Haves):

• Data Management
• Cognos v8 or v10
• Cognos BI
• HTML
• Java
• Good Communication - Written and Verbal

 

Desired Skills (Preferred, not required):

• Cognos version 8 or 10 Administrator certification
• Experience with Teradata
• SAS
• Prior finance experience
