REQUIREMENT:
Title: NetBackup Level 3 Consultant
Location: Mountain View, CA
Duration: 6+ months (and may be further extended)
Start Date: ASAP
General Summary:
· Should be good in English verbal and written communication skills
· Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in supporting IT
infrastructure.
· Installation and configuration of Master/Media and clients.
· In-depth knowledge of Netbackup 6.x and 7.x concepts.
· Troubleshooting SUN, HP, DELL Tape libraries
· Installation and configuration of Database agents
· Good Knowledge on Deduplication and Storage life cycle policy
· Exposure to the backup technology using OST
· Symantec Netbackup 6.x and 7.x Product hands on is an Mandatory
requirement
· 6 to 8 years of Netbackup Experience with windows/Unix platform
hands on experience
* High technical culture with drive towards well designed well
implemented solutions.
* Demonstrable experience in trouble shooting problem incidents in
NetBackup infrastructure.
* Understanding and knowledge of server or storage administration like
NetApp hardware, OS, or VNX platform in terms of backup
* Knowledge on VMware VStorage API,
* Exposure to the Virtual Tape library (VTL) like NetApp, Datadomain
etc.
* Backup Configuration using Datadomain, disk staging is an added
advantage
* RMAN backup configuration and scheduling is mandatory
* Should work on shift's(24/7) and on call is mandatory during Major
incident support
· Understanding the daemon flow.
· Good exposure to the Command Line interface.
· Exposure to the Netbackup Operations Manager and the reporting
tools
· Sound knowledge on Configuration of Volume Pools, Storage Units,
Policies, Tape drives and Robot etc.
· Troubleshooting knowledge in different backup error/status codes.
· Experience in Netbackup DR
· Excellent people skills with the ability to interact successfully
with business and other technology groups.
· Organisation skills, high self-motivation.
· Commitment, Flexibility, Reliability in attitude to duties.
· Efficient and accurate decision-making
* Advanced Troubleshooting skills, Resolution of break fix incidents
and prompt escalation to Vendor support or managers is an mandatory
* Adherence to change control, risk Management regulatory and
compliance processes as well as operational best practises mandated within iGCC.
