Description:
This role will be responsible for daily administration tasks in development & production environments, as well as designing and creating SQL objects for internal projects working closely with Business Analysts, DBA and QA staff. At full strength, the development team will comprise 25 people, 11 of them developers. The development methodology is iterative, the timeline is very aggressive, and the project is strongly supported and fully funded by the business.
Position Requirements:
Candidates must demonstrate all of the following technical competencies:
- Expert in Database Administration including Installing, configuring, managing and monitoring SQL Server dBs
- Expert in Microsoft SQL Server (5 + years in 2005 and 2+ years in 2008, 2008 R2) developing complex transact queries (T-SQL)including stored procedures, functions, triggers and views
- 6+ years of experience in SSIS developing complex ETL processes
- 5+ years of experience in SSRS
- Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Replication and Security
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, connectivity and security issues
- Expertise in Database logical and physical modeling including normalization, identifying/non-identifying relations, data types and referential integrity
- Experience in improving data integration process through performance tuning techniques
Interpersonal and teamwork requirements:
- Ability to work quickly in a small-team iterative development environment
- Clear verbal and written communication
- Demonstrated ability to write clear specifications for complex processes
- Effective interpersonal skills collaborating with business partners and technical team members
- Experience participating in code review and acceptance process to improve code quality
