• Ruby ver 2.x
• Rails ver 3.x
• JRuby 2.x
• Hands on with Ruby development IDE
• Hands on with all of the GEMS and libraries for this version of the ruby/rails
• Hands-on with Interactive Ruby (for windows)
• Hands-on with command line rails and ruby interface to install, configure, use versions and packages
• Development environment will be Unix (not windows). Hands on experience with installation of pkgs, libraries, shell scripts (BONE, K)
• Hands on with Batch Programming on Rails
• Test Driven development (very important)
• Thorough understanding of MVC Pattern and object oriented programming
• Hands on to connect rails to the backend database (POSTGre SQL preferred)
