Job Title : HCR 835 EDI Developers

Length of Assignment: 6 months

Location:  Middleton, WI 

 

EDI Developer

 

The candidate will be responsible for design,   development, and support of solutions for electronic data interactions between  applications and vendors. 

 

The Healthcare Developer will engage stakeholders to:

 

Ø  Design, develop, implement, and support flat file extracts (X12 standards), and application integration solutions that meet   business needs, including transactions to be exchanged between   applications.  Serve as the coordination point for implementations.

Ø  Collaborate   with cross-functional teams to develop integrated solutions.  Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders   to design, develop, test and deploy these solutions.

Ø  Support   production systems including analyzing and resolving production problems and   end user service requests.

Ø  Elicit and define business requirements between various applications and analyze new requirements or any new change requests for   existing solutions.

Ø  Maintain all solution related documentation and compliance   documentation regarding flat file rendering information.

Ø  Coordinate with stakeholders and application support contractors to implement generation of X12 835 transaction for EFT with clearinghouse, bank and vendors.

Ø  Develop custom data conversions and translations and   provide technical support to stakeholders and application interface support   regarding EDI transmission, mapping and EFT issues.

Ø  Identify and resolve FFR problems, including but not limited to, the detection and correct escalation of issues.

Ø  Analyze change requests to determine if they fall within scope of project requirements.

Ø  Keep abreast of healthcare industry best practices   and HIPAA regulatory requirements.

 

Requirements

 

Ø  Bachelor's or higher degree in related discipline.

Ø  Five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive   experience as a Healthcare Developer with EDI, HIPAA and X12 standards   implementation experience.

Ø  3-5 years full life-cycle experience developing enterprise Java applications

Ø  Development of service-oriented applications using Java web services

Ø  Experience with multiple Software Development Lifecycle   (SDLC) methodologies, project management principles and techniques, and   operating in a complex and integrated team environment.

Ø  Knowledge on Center for Medicare and Medicaid   Services is preferred.

Ø  Must possess solid oral and written communications   skills and demonstrate the ability to function within a strong team   environment.

Ø  Ability to work with multiple internal and   external clients simultaneously through their implementation and maintenance needs.

Ø  Ability   to prioritize independently, multiple requests and requirements to meet the client's   business needs.

 

Specific/Desired Skills

 

Ø  Extensive   knowledge of standard EDI (flat file extracts) healthcare data   exchange structures (X12, XML, HL7 and others).

Ø  Expertise   with important EDI documents (e.g., 837, 835, 270/271, 276/277).

Ø  HIPAA   compliance knowledge as it relates to healthcare data.

Ø  Knowledge   of continuous quality improvement techniques.

Ø  Good   grasp of the typical functionality of a Claims processing system.

Ø  Strong   organization, time management and project management skills and multi-tasking   abilities.

Ø  Must have excellent oral and written communication skills with a   demonstrated capability for dealing with all levels of client management   personnel and staff.

Ø  Strong   database-related development skills (e.g., complex SQL queries).

Ø  Working   knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare regulations/standards and industry standards   and best practices

Ø  Knowledge   in one or more of the following areas is preferred:

Ø  X12 4010 and 5010 standard transactions

Ø  837I/837P Claims Submission Processing

Ø  835 Remittance Advice Processing
