Senior Business objects Expert -New Jersey                       

 

Experience Required:

• Minimum 8years in an IT department with at least 5 years of experience in the position offered, or as a Developer, Software Engineer, or closely related occupation.

• Must have demonstrated experience with implementing complex Business Objects Universes/Web Intelligence/Crystal Reports/Xcelsius.

• Must have strong experience in building Business Objects cubes.

• Experience with Business Objects SDK and Web Intelligence SDK programming a big plus.

• Strong experience with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Stored Procedures skills.

• Should have advanced Unix Shell Scripting experience.

• Experience in designing Business Intelligence Reporting systems.

• Experience in BI schema definition, design, implementation and maintenance.

• Strong experience in data warehousing concepts and techniques.

• Thorough knowledge of the report development lifecycle.

 

Experience Preferred :

• Experience of working on large, multi-threaded, globally distributed and complex projects.

• Experience working on customer-facing technologies.

• Clear understanding of BI, Data Warehouse operating environments and related technologies.

• Ability to coach and mentor others on the design, development and usage of BI product suites.

• Knowledge of SDLC methodologies.

 

Skills/Aptitude Required :

• Experience in UDB, Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, UNIX and Windows.

• Experience in BI products such as MicroStrategy, Business Objects, MS SQL Server Reporting Services, SpotFire, etc.

• Ability to identify issues and risks with projects which may impact delivery timelines; and cognizance to escalate issues with vendors/management as required.

• Able to multi-task and prioritize a demanding and varied workload.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Extremely organized, excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly in documenting system architectures and workflows.

• Highly self-motivated with a confident "do the right thing" attitude.

• Excellent attention to detail, self-starter with demonstrable initiative.

• Team player, co-operative, and able to work in a large team across multiple locations and time zones.
