Android graphics s/w validation engineer
We are looking for an experienced graphics software validation engineer with a background in embedded product development utilizing the Android OS to join our team. In this position, you will be helping to define and develop the graphics driver automated validation environment and test suites to validate the graphics software stack and its integration to the overall reference platform software in support of ultramobile projects. You will be creating, modifying and debugging test code to validate the development and integration of the graphics driver to all layers of the Android software stack, hence a strong programming background and system level debug capabilities are preferred. An understanding of test development and automation, sw configuration management, the build and release management process and associated tools will be helpful. A good understanding of these key areas and the flexibility to work on any or all of them, would be an advantage: platform hardware expertise, Intel X86-based Architecture, the open source development process, validation concepts, android kernel and device drivers, middleware, applications and validation tools.
Additional desirable qualifications include:
-The flexibility and discipline to do what is needed when needed.
-Working knowledge of graphics and display software.
-Strong experience in software validation tools, processes and automation: writing test plans, designing test frameworks and developing both requirements based and implementation based test cases utilizing C, C++, Java, scripting languages, HTML5, etc…
-Experience with smartphone software validation.
-Experience with the Android OS and linux development environments.
-Experience interfacing with both a core team and extended teams worldwide, all working toward the same goal: the on-time creation, validation and integration of a high quality graphics driver into an overall reference software stack.
Android Graphics Driver Developer
• Additional qualifications include: 3 to 5 years of experience in Linux Driver development.
• Previous experience with device driver/embedded development is a must. Proficient in C and/or C++, Linux system level programming including multithreaded development concepts.
• Android Multimedia framework development experience with good understanding of Linux kernels and hardware driver interaction concepts is a plus.
• Linux kernel debugging skills.
• Previous experience with USB/audio/video/graphics/camera imaging/OpenGLES development is desirable.
• Keen passion and/or interest in system software development on Android/Linux. Assertive and knowledgeable about product development life cycle.
• Good problem solving skills. Good team player. Quick learner, self-motivated to work independently on designing new software. Good communication, documentation and organizational skills.
• Experience with working on Low Power systems and/or Always Connected systems would be an added advantage
Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities as an Android Linux Driver Developer - Graphics will include but not be limited to:
• Designing, developing and delivering core set of device drivers under Android/Linux system (Must have solid driver development experience).
• Integrating SW stacks and the hardware platform and ensure enablement of all the uses cases.
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve all software, firmware and platform related issues and ensure that closure at the respective debug forums.
• Executing the business processes necessary to deliver the components for software releases to MCG
