Position: Sr. Java J2EE Developer with Financial exp 

Location: NYC, NY

Duration: 6+ months

Locals or nearby face to face must

 

J2EE Developer who has current hands-on coding skills required for an enterprise level platform. The environment is exciting, fast-paced and constantly changing. The right person for this position will be comfortable with shifting priorities, being deliverable-oriented, and being accountable for achieving realistic yet challenging goals. The candidate will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including planning, technical design, construction, peer reviews, documentation, testing and deployment.

 

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

·         Thorough knowledge of Java, class definition and interface implementation.

·         Thorough knowledge of J2EE and EJB technology

·         Experience working with an RDBMS (DB2 preferred)

·         Web service experience preferred

·         Knowledge of WAS on Linux

·         Should possess sound knowledge of modular design approach

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

·         Financial services application experience

·         Experience with fee-based managed account programs, including Separately Managed Accounts (SMA), Unified Managed Accounts (UMA), Mutual Fund Wrap (MFA/MFW), etc.

·         FIX Protocol knowledge including FIX messages,

·         SSO client connectivity and authentication

·         Familiarity with Unix (Linux), PERL and shell scripting a plus

·         ExtJs and Javascript

 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

·         Must be comfortable working in a dynamic, constantly changing environment

·         Must have experience with long and short term project duration

·         Must be able to work independently

·         Develop, customize and implement robust ecommerce software

·         Meet project deadlines by:

·         Taking ownership

·         Understanding and analyzing requirements

·         Designing and developing superior solutions

·         Building solid technical test plans

·         Contribute to the team environment to ensure mutual success by providing guidance for development, testing and troubleshooting

·         Provide concise/clear status updates and escalate issues as appropriate to the relevant project stakeholders

·         Determine optimal solution designs based on the assessment of costs, risks, complexity and benefits

·         Solve complex problems by leading analysis and development of technical solutions; involve and guide other team members in problem solving activities

·         Successfully deploy our ecommerce platform in a variety of production environments that include WebSphere, MQ, DB2 and Apache.

·         Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
