Duties Required of This Role:

¬   The Business Intelligence (BI) developer's responsibility is to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from business sources to data warehouse/data mart targets.

¬   Develop SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports that meet the requirements of the business and the project including:

·         Data staging

·         Data validation

·         Advanced data reconciliation and exception detection

·         Data transformation / consolidation

·         Data loading

·         Report deployment

¬   Design, develop, and maintain a framework for managing and auditing ETL processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of those processes.

¬   Collaborate with the business and technical community to gather and develop reporting requirements and specifications.

¬   Develop cubes according to specifications

¬   Analyze how developed solution represents business data reporting requirements

¬   Validate reporting requirements and data results from developed reports

¬   Develop and document all artifacts and objects necessary to populate or consume data structures including ETL processes, end-user reports, and data dictionaries.

¬   Analysis, development, QA, implementation, monitoring and administration of objects and artifacts as required.

 

 Experience Required:

 

¬   Seven (7) years of specialized experience in the design and implementation of ETL related technologies, with a high degree of maturity in developing advanced validation and transformation routines.

¬   Five (5) years experience implementing SSIS and SSRS solutions on Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or higher.

¬   Three (3) years of experience working in a data warehouse/data marts environment.

¬   Proven effective execution experience in high visibility projects with multiple stakeholders both within and outside of the client organization

¬   Ability to demonstrably illustrate all above experience through:

o   technical and functional interviews

o   presentation of sanitized deliverables from past projects of similar nature

o   multiple client reference testimonials

 

Skills Required:

¬   Design, development, and implementation of complex SSIS packages

¬   Overall ETL process stress testing and optimization

¬   Strong Transact-SQL (T-SQL) query and stored procedure development

¬   Query analysis and troubleshooting

¬   Query performance tuning

¬   Familiarity with SQL Server configuration and administration

¬   Strong communication and documentation skills

¬   Consistent attention to detail

¬   Overall high degree of professionalism

 

Preferred Skills:

¬   At least 1 year of experience with designing and implementing reporting applications with a leading BI tool suite such as Cognos, Business Objects, Hyperion, etc.

¬   State and or federal government experience helpful, but not mandatory

¬   SQL Server Analysis Services (multi-dimensional cube) and MDX development experience

¬   Microsoft Sharepoint as a reporting portal experience a big plus

¬   Dashboard and scorecard development experience a plus

¬   Experience with Performance Point Services in Sharepoint Server 2010 a big plus
