Job title                : Mainframe Ops With MVS

Location               :Houston TX.

Duration              :6 Months plus

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• 8+ years of experience in Mainframe ops and Conversant with MVS and JES2 commands to carry out the day-to-day operational tasks

• Operational Knowledge on z/OS  system and other subsystems e.g. DB2 , IMS, CICS, MQ etc.

• Monitor & use HMC across the z/OS LPARS in scope

• Monitor Console for WTOR messages, other system/error messages etc. and report it to the relevant technical team

• Monitor and act on different system and sub system level thresholds

• Monitor SMF log, DB Active and archive logs, JES2 spools

• ADD / DELETE  PAGE datasets for maintaining the optimal auxiliary storage

• Ensure all started tasks are gracefully brought down/started during shutdown/IPL of an Lpar

• IPL Lpars based on the IPL schedule.
