Role: Build and Release Engineer
Location: San Francisco, California
Looking for Build and Release Engineer candidates.
Expert in Release Planning and Release Scheduling
Design the SCM plan, Build and Release Management plan at an enterprise level and device a plan to implement the design
Formalizing a release management function in the organization
Manage multiple environment builds in coordination with enterprise infrastructure and vendor teams to ensure availability in a predictable manner to meet program timelines
Manage provisioning of Windows operating system, Oracle database, TriZetto Facets software, Informatica software, custom-developed code (e.g. PL/SQL stored procedures and Informatica maps), reference data, configuration data, and test data
Visualize the need for various roles and assigning release manager/release engineer roles oversee each release
Assign build manager/coordinator for each logical release which can be mapped to functional module (Enrollment and Membership, Claims etc). Each Functional module can be packaged and deployed in testing environments
SCM & RM tools used: SVN, Maven, Ant, Jenkins, Jira etc
Optimizing the release approach:
Calibrate release frequency and type to accommodate business needs
Maintain different classes of release (e.g. Major/Minor, date or content driven releases) with "clear criteria for inclusion in each."
Automate build, test and deployment processes wherever possible
Implementing quality controls:
Document quality control processes for releases
Establish checklists to ensure consistency across releases
Track every item's progress and immediate action/escalation which needs attention
Requirement traceability to track all the build components for each functionality
Group release management with related functions (e.g. build management, SCM, and testing)
Co-ordinate with various functions (SCM, Testing, Environment Management, helpdesk etc) within the organization to arrive at an enterprise wide release strategy to achieve efficiency
Ensure seamless on boarding/ associate release process
Technology escalation Management & Adherence to window outage
Provide burn rate of the resources to the senior leadership
Technology – M/F, ODBA, SQL DBA, M/F DBA, App Support, Incident Management, etc.
Software Configuration & Release Management
Build & Deployment expertise
Healthcare FACETS, Healthcare full knowledge, Tools knowledge, ITIL Process expert
Release Management experience in Jira, Subversion & Jenkins.
Skill Sets: Build and Release Management.
