Must-haves
-Must have 5+ years of extensive experience in installation/upgrade/managing application server environments such as Apache, Oracle and Weblogic on UNIX environments.
-Thorough understanding of Apache/Oracle/Weblogic server architecture and configuration methods
-Thorough understanding of architectural elements required to support large installations such as clustering and load balancing
-An understanding of Web Servers, Application Servers (WebLogic, Websphere) and Databases (Oracle preferred) is required. Must also have insight to Java application development and architecture.
-Should have experience with WebSphere, WebLogic or OAS installation, Portal, WebSphere MQ Configuration and performance tuning.
-Working knowledge of wsadmin and jython scripting.
-In-depth knowledge of Oracle Application Server administration on UNIX & LINUX
-Should be comfortable with concepts of application architecture/design for performance using vertical and horizontal scaling, JMS, Connection Pools and J2EE Deployments.
-Solid work experience in Java/J2EE environments to support and troubleshoot the middle-tier applications is desired.

-Experience working in a SOA environment
Day-to-Day
-Maintain security and recommended patches for WAS, IHS and WMQ.
-Monitor for Application core dumps, or forced thread dumps to check for system objects using thread analyzer. Administer various Log files using log analyzer, Product logs, Installation logs, Administer server logs, Application server logs.
-Troubleshoot and debug any errors occurring in application server environment, application debugging, heap analysis and error doc gathering required. Must be able to analyze and tune Web, App server configurations.
-Establish effective communications with Unix, Application and Database teams to support a wide array of multi-platform systems.
-Provide 24x7 on-call support of middleware applications.
-Optimize the application performance by tuning application server components as well as JVM options
