Location: Raleigh, NC

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Mandatory Skills:
• Use techniques from supervised and unsupervised machine learning, statistical analysis and predictive modeling to deliver business insights to business partners
• Responsible for the creation, testing, building, deploying, and maintenance of mathematical/statistical models
• Strong ability to identify analytical/statistical techniques from business requirements and use cases
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience in statistical and operations research modeling techniques such as
• Regression (linear, logistic, ordered, multinomial, negative binomial, Poisson) analysis techniques
• And any 2 of the following:
• Time Series Analysis
• Mixed Linear models
• Probability modeling
• Econometric modeling
• Hierarchical linear modeling
• Factor analysis
• Cluster analysis
• Generalized linear mixed models
• Nonparametric methods
• Computationally intensive methods
• Simulation methods
• Strong understanding of theories, principles, and practices of above techniques, along with MDLC methodologies such as SEMMA, CRISP-DM, RUP etc.
• Excellent hands-on knowledge of at least 1 modeling tool such as SAS, R, IBM SPSS, Hadoop Mahout, MATLAB, or WEKA
• Very proficient in data visualization and possess capability to report data findings to Technologists as well as CxO office
• Responsible for providing general statistical advice and training to the team
• Responsible for governing statistical model specifications
• Ability to lead a team of statisticians, data scientists, and machine learning specialists
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling techniques and tools as listed above
• Experience working with relational databases and/or distributed computing platforms (distributed clusters, multi core SMP), and their query interfaces, such as SQL, Map Reduce, XQuery, PIG, and Hive.
• Ability to work with Large Data Sets such as Sensor, Telecom, Social, Logs etc. (e.g., at least few hundreds of millions of records)
• Strong technical documentation skills
• Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives
• Should know how to translate business requirements into analytical requirements
• Excellent customer focus attitude
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly business language
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Ability to multi-task, prioritize and execute on assigned deliverables
