Duration: 6-8 + months

 

 

SAS/SQL Analyst

Functions

• Strong Excel financial modelling skills
• Highly numerate / statistical knowledge - able to work with numbers and make error free calculations
• Ability to communicate effectively in non-technical terms
• Stakeholder management - interface with various departments effectively to ensure all relevant business inputs are considered and forecast results are communicated
• Must have highly developed analytical abilities, able to analyze situations, challenge assumptions, develop analytical methodologies, present and defend conclusions and recommend action plans.
• Ability to produce accurate results under pressured timelinesDesigns/analyzes complex reports to satisfy management requirement
• Must be able to organize and prioritize multiple assignments to meet tight deadlines.
• Evaluates complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact.
• Uses broad discretion in developing solutions for business reporting issues.
• Influences decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization.

Knowledge

• Strong SAS / SQL skills - with ability to manipulate large data sets, automate monthly processes and debug code with minimal steer'
• Experience working with decision and rules engines a plus (e.g. Triad, Blaze Advisor);
• 3 - 5 years of Risk Management, Accounting, Forecasting and Analytic Experience in banking, preferably credit cards
• Credit Risk / Finance analytical experience on consumer retail portfolios a plus
• Bachelors Degree required. Masters Degree preferred
• Degree in highly numerate discipline
• Knowledge of system implementations and UAT testing a plus
