Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills
Ø Expert in Java and web application technologies
Ø Experience with technologies:Java, Spring MVC, J2EE, Jboss, SOAP and REST Webservices, Junit/Mockito/EasyMock
Ø Experience working in Agile/XP/Lean development methodlogies
Ø Experience building highly scalable and performing web applications (understanding of considerations for state, session management, caching, consistency, concurrency, and inter-system dependencies)
Ø Advanced expertise in REST web services and the underpinnings of developing a highly scalable web service
Ø Test Driven Development (TDD)
Ø Experience working in build tools like ANT, Maven, Hudson/Jenkins
Ø Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google App Engine, Hadoop etc)
Ø Experience in code Refactoring
Ø Experience evaluating performance and subsequent tuning of web services including caches, web servers and data stores
Desirable Technical / Functional Skills
Ø Experience as a Technical Lead on a complex distributed systems project
Ø Experience in Infrastructure Automation (Chef in particular)
Ø Experience evaluating performance and subsequent tuning of web services including caches, web servers and data stores
Ø Understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of different programming languages with the ability to select one and justify the choice
Total experience in required skill (years) 10+
