DB2 engineering performs the function of installation, customization, maintenance and tuning of DB2 software products within a multi-Sysplex data sharing environment.

Installation and product support is also required for DB2 OEM products.

Significant coordination with MVS, System performance, CICS, MQ and DASD groups is required.Work with Level 2 and vendor technical support teams to identify DB2 and OEM software related problems.

• Experience as a DB2 z/OS systems programmer

• Working knowledge of DB2 Internals, fundaments, installations and operations

• Working knowledge of DB2 data sharing/Parallel Sysplex

• Knowledge of systems performance tuning and capacity planning

• Knowledge of security interface with DB2

• Experience with SMP/E

• Experience with installing and using DB2Connect

• Strong zOS, USS and JCL skills

• REXX knowledge

• Working knowledge of CICS/DB2 and MQ

• Knowledge of interfacing with and installing OEM vendor tools

• Disaster Recovery support
