Job Description :
TOP 5 SKILLS (Need all 5)
Ø Kimball Methodology (#1 skill because if they have Kimball they should be strong in Dimensional Modeling)
Ø 5 + years of Data Warehousing
Ø Data Modeling – Needs to be able to do from scratch; the analysis, model, and then the ETL Mappings
Ø Data Profiling Tools – Must have Erwin or Power Builder
Ø Business Analyst (Must be able to client face and gather requirements, thus have great communication skills)
Ø In this environment the DA comes in after the BA has done his/her job. The DA is an extension of the BA.
Responsibilities:
Ø Data Modeling for both transactional and data warehouse databases
Ø Creation of ETL Mappings; mapping of tables from source to target using standard SDLC mapping templates
Ø Creation of EAI Mappings; mapping of XML Schemas from source to target using standard SDLC mapping templates
Ø Create and maintain data model
Ø Create queries and stored procedures in SQL
Ø Profile data and validate results
Ø Communicate with customers to obtain data requirements and perform data analysis on data provided
Required Qualifications:
Ø Must have 4 years experience in writing/developing SQL queries.
Ø Very Good Communication skills
Ø Minimum 3 years of software development experience
Ø Experienced in defining and manipulating complex SQL including mathematical functions, grouping, joins, sub-select, etc.
Ø Experienced in data loading, extraction and manipulation for diverse RDBMS- specifically SQL Server and Oracle
Ø Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet formats for data analysis, organization, and loading
Ø Experience with various ETL, data warehousing tools and concepts
Ø Experience in query tuning and concepts
Ø BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related areas
Familiarity with following tools/technologies
Ø Data Modeling: Embarcadero ER/Studio
Ø XML Tool: XML Spy
Ø Query Tools
Ø Data/SQL Mapping
Ø Databases: SQL Server
