SAP Senior BI Architect
Los Angeles, CA
Relevant Experience (Yrs) :
• Minimum of 12 years of experience within Information Technology industry
• 8-10 years Hands-on relevant work as an enterprise level Data Architect primarily on SAP HANA BW area
• Experience in leading technical discussions with Chief Architects of Customer and SAP
Necessary Skills : More than 10 years of demonstrated relevant experience with the following:
• Full lifecycle experience with data warehouse, ETL, reporting & analytics architecture
• Strong data modeling skills.
• Operational and technical aspects of BI tools and of ETL tools.
• Strong knowledge of major BI platform: SAP BO design and implementation experience. Exposure to MicroSrategy is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of at least one major ETL platform: SAP BODS. Exposure to DataStage is an advantage
• Knowledge of principles of operation of data servers: SAP HANA. Experience with Netezza is advantage
• Enterprise data management, HANA modeling techniques and ability to participate in strategy discussions with program/ project stakeholders.
• Designing & implementing data warehousing / business intelligence (DW/BI) architectures.
• Excellent data analysis and communication skills (written & verbal) and be equally effective interacting with both business and IT professionals
• Exposure to application security technologies and approaches
• Strong technical skills developing, debugging, documenting, and implementing applications
• Retail industry experience preferred.
Roles & Responsibilities :
• Translate business requirements from customers and Business Analyst into technical (functional and non-functional) requirements
• Create the high-level design for new applications and solutions
• Ensure that the data models are configured efficiently and populated with the data required by the BI environment.
• Responsible for capacity planning of assigned systems
• Perform code review, and mentoring of development resources
• Working collaboratively with BI solution vendors, reviewing deliverables and guiding activities to
• Identify areas for improvement in maintenance and plan enhancements to existing systems.
• Supply input for key design and architecture decisions;
• Contribute to planning, support, performance testing and troubleshooting;
• Establish and enforce standards and best practices in the development team
• Provide technical analysis and investigation of defects in applications
