The Business Objects Developer will create technical design specs for universes and WEBI reports, develop universes and WEBI reports, perform testing, develop user guides and perform end user training. In addition, the Business Objects Developer will perform regular maintenance on Universes for performance, maintain front-end security of data, provide user support for data issues, install software as required, resolve software issues on user workstations, resolve access to application and data issues for users, and provide follow-on support for end-users after training. The resource should have experience working with BOXI R2 or BOXI R3 Web Intelligence (Webi) report development. The resource must be able to work independently and interact directly with client users and senior managers with minimal supervision. Strong knowledge of SQL. Strong knowledge of Data warehousing. Understanding data modeling concepts and database join principles. Proven ability to serve as a Technical Developer responsible for delivering solutions and meeting business needs. Understanding of managing security within the CMC.

Key Areas of Responsibility The incumbent will be responsible for scoping, design, implementation, testing, and systems integration of software components for this system. Development involves the following system areas, and others: Retail and Financial Device Subsystems Retail Application Control and Interface Development Systems Diagnostics and utilities Retail Application Control Interface Design and Implementation Application Configuration Tools

Education/Experience BS or MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience required

3 – 8 years professional software development experience desired POS Checkout Application knowledge a strong plus Self Service and Retail Peripheral Knowledge very strongly desired Retail solutions experience preferred (NCR, IBM, Retalix, SNI, and/or ICL) Experience in Systems-level software design and development Object Oriented Design and Analysis experience preferred MFC, ATL, Win32, COM/ActiveX, and C runtime Libraries and APIs Either Strong C++ or Java (J2SE) skills are required – both are desired.
