Position: Strong Performance Engineering experience with Clariion Symm
Location: Columbus, OH

Job Description:
One of my clients in Columbus, OH is looking for a Senior Storage Performance Engineer for a 9+ month project. Must have architect level performance experience.
- Strong overall knowledge of the EMC Symmetrix/Clariion support line, capable of conducting in-depth analysis of our most complex application sets (typically spanning multiple frames) to determine where bottlenecks are present and to help reduce the overall time to resolve these types of problems
- Capability to make recommendations on storage configurations given a specific performance issue on how to best resolve that problem, either through a re-layout of existing storage or a complete migration to new volumes as required
- Fundamental understanding of all aspects of Symmetrix/Clariion performance/error thresholds and monitoring – we will be rebuilding our primary monitoring platform this year, and one thing we want to make sure we capture is places where we should having monitoring in place that is missing today
- Performance Assessment of SAN
- San consists of EMC VMAX, Clariions, Cisco Switches, W/ EMC Monitoring, TPC and TeamQuest Monitoring
- Setup and monitoring of thin provisioning and storage tiering
- EMC Optimizer tuning for performance
- SMC Provisioning tools
- SPA Monitoring and Management
- Brocade Fabric Monitoring with CMDCE 10.3.3
- Capacity monitoring and reporting
- Custom Ionix Storage Scope Reports
- San Architecture design and monitoring
- Capacity Trending
- Svc, TPC, Team Quest reporting
- ECC 7.0 assessment (not a released product)
- Recommendations for San to Storage Engineering
- DMX - VMAX Provisioning pool creation Thin deployment Automation techniques
- Evaluate tools for Enterprise Monitoring
- Assurance that best practice is adhered to across product offering to include engunuity frames, DMX, VMX, Clariion, Cellerra and associated software
