Job Title: Infra Architect with UNIX Background
Location: Dallas, TX
Duration: 6 Months extendable
Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Take long term responsibility for client IT systems
2. Thought leader with the ability to drive change across an organization
3. Ensure that the business and IT are in alignment and, when needed, align and/or streamline business processes, IT and business strategy.
4. Operate across organizational verticals to drive common approaches and to expose information assets and processes across the enterprise.
5. Access and communicate the impacts, tradeoffs, risks, costs, benefits and opportunities of IT solutions.
6. Define the architecture and technology standards for applications and infrastructure across the organization and ensure those standards are published, updated and made available.
7. Serve as a subject matter expert for architectural frameworks, methods, design patterns, and tools.
8. Document through architectural models or views the current and future needs of the organization and how they will be met in an efficient, sustainable, agile, adaptable and cost effective manner.
9. Lay strategic technological planning to achieve company goals by prioritizing technology initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technologies.
10. Work with stakeholders, both leadership and subject matter experts, to build and document a holistic view of the organization's strategy, processes, information, and information technology assets.
11. Participate in the creation and evolution of a technology roadmap that defines current technical architectures, future architectures, and the transition towards future architectures.
12. Serve on architectural governance councils in a leadership and decision making capacity
Work independently alongside multiple teams in an advisory capacity
Required Skills & Experience:
1. 5+ years experience as an infrastructure/application architect.
2. 10+ years of experience within information systems or functional business unit.
3. Expertise in infrastructure architecture/design artifacts and mechanisms.
4. Extensive knowledge in Datacenter tower – Wintel/Unix/Storage/Back up domains
5. Extensive Knowledge in current trends in Wintel/Unix/Storage/Back up domains
6. Conceptual knowledge in Virtualization/Consolidation
7. Conceptual knowledge in domain architecture/Messaging/Collaboration services
8. Knowledge in current trends of Infrastructure domains like cloud computing etc.,
9. Experience with tools and methodologies to design and architect business applications.
10. Familiarity with strategic architectural concepts.
11. Customer focused orientation with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
12. Experience with and understanding of Open Source Software.
13. Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
14. Ability to provide knowledge transfer through documentation and training.
15. Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or related field
