ITJOB-ALERT QA Specialist III- Equity and Derivatives Testing

WASHINGTON, District of Columbia

 

Need to have experience testing financial COTS applications 
Need experience with equity and derivatives 


Duties and Responsibilities: 
Develop and maintain Test plan and schedule 
Manage the defined scope and present change request to the users for approvals. 
Understand business requirements for equity project implementation 
Collaborate with Business Analyst to ensure Testing Strategy covers all Business Requirements 
Coordinate test execution activities for technical application testing and UAT (user acceptance testing) 
Record, track and report test issues 
Publish test metrics and issues and resolution for approval on completion of testing 
Participate in status meetings and prepare status reports if necessary - highlighting issues and constraints that would impact timely delivery of work program items. 
Communicate proactively with other team members and business sponsors 
Work with business sponsors and project team while undertaking testing of the application 
Review the project plan and provide the project management assistance 
Review client policies, procedures and practices to determine specifications and requirements for any customizations 
Document discussions (meeting minutes) and circulate to the group and obtain sign off to ensure all the participants are on the same page with regards to any issues 
Analyze and document dependencies if any 
Define the Roles and responsibilities for QA team 

Deliverables: 
Test Cases with test plan 
Statement of work and QA execution plan 

Required Skills: 
7+ years experience in Financial Services IT out of which 3+ years as QA lead is a plus 
Excellent written and oral communication skills 
Experience managing test execution 
Experience recording, tracking and reporting resolving issues 
Experience with financial COTS implementation is a plus 
Experience with internal controls and IT controls and compliance is a plus 
Experience with equity & derivatives transactions and accounting is a plus
