Storage hardware (IBM, HP and HDS SAN disk arrays, HDS HNAS) and SAN switches (CISCO)
Storage management software (HDvM, StorageNavigator, HDS Device Manager, IBM SVC native utilities, HDS HNAS native utilities-SMU )
CISCO Switch management software (Device Manager, Fabric Manager) and storage protocols.
Storage virtualization techniques (Array based virtualization using HDS VSP and Storage virtualization using IBM SVC)
Storage and switch performance monitoring and troubleshooting tools and techniques. Tools like HDS Tuning Manager, HP Performance Advisor, HDS Command Director, IBM TPC suite of products, CISCO Performance Manager, CA eHealth, BMC Best/1.
IOmeter or similar I/O subsystem measurement tool
Storage and switch capacity planning techniques and methodologies.
Understanding of the dependencies of various platforms and their storage needs
Understanding of Windows and UNIX Operating system administration
Systems implementation and administration experience
Performance analysis and capacity planning methodology
The primary tasks include:
Applying capacity planning and utilization of performance best practices of applications to systems resources from planning through production
Applying good organization and problem-solving skills.
Applying knowledge in performance monitoring and planning methodologies.
Applying specific expertise in one or more tools (e.g., IBM SVC native tooling, HP Storage Essentials, SRM Products for OpenSystems Storage, Cisco Device Manager, Cisco Fabric Manager, HDvM, HP Command View & Storage Works, IBM Tivoli Productivity Center)
Applying proactive interaction conveying Capacity Management and Performance strategies and techniques
Assisting in capturing measurements to ensure Service Level Objectives can be achieved and evaluated.
Providing infrastructure performance assessment including complete analysis of perceived performance problems and be able to quantify results.
Providing capacity planning and performance measurement services to the State Farm Storage systems to ensure that the storage hardware/software resources meet the business demand of the State Farm enterprise
Applying knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, TCP/IP, and network protocols.
Applying knowledgeable of Service Management/ITIL best practices
Applying knowledge of project methodology/SDM
Position: Cisco ADMIN
Location: Bloomington, IL
Duration: 6+ Months
Rate: $48/hr on CTC/1099 Max
Primary responsibility
Application Optimization : *
Support of application load balancing and WAN Optimization hardware and software: -
Cisco ACE -Cisco WAAS and WAAS Mobile; WCCP -Cisco GSS (and DNS skills) - F5
* Provide defect management for load balancing and WAN Optimization technologies
* Facilitate communication with business areas on the use of load balancing and WAN Optimization technologies.
*Vendor relations:
- Work closely with vendors for load balancing needs, to include solution design and contract discussions
- Coordinate managed solutions services with vendors
- Research new vendors and their offerings and costs
- Attend user groups and conferences to build external relationships
* Coordinate and participate in Project and Service Request work for funded roadmap efforts
* Research application optimization technologies and new vendors to increase knowledge

The primary tasks include:
Participate in performance testing of networked applications to determine if they meet the performance requirements of the customer.
Apply good organization and problem-solving skills.
Apply knowledge in performance monitoring and planning methodologies.
Apply specific expertise in one or more tools (e.g., eHealth, NetQoS,OpNet, Observer/Gigamon, HTTP Watch, and WireShark)
Apply performance tuning experience as it relates to I/O, network/hardware, SQL, and Java specific processes.
Assist in creating and updating performance plans, bridging IT Infrastructure, application optimization, and provide strategic and tactical Business Requirements.
Provide infrastructure performance assessment including complete analysis of perceived performance problems and be able to quantify results.
Apply strong knowledge of Web Based Infrastructures.
Apply working knowledge of database structures, modeling and tools.
Participate in the creation of performance and capacity reports. These reports need to be understandable and meaningful for executive, middle management, and technical audiences.
Experience in both capacity planning and capacity management.
Apply knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, TCP/IP, and network protocols.
Apply knowledgeable of Service Management/ITIL best practices

Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity Connections, Cisco IOS routers & gateways, Cisco Network Architecture, LAN/WAN technologies, Telephony carriers (TDM & SIP), Session Border Controllers, Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise, Cisco CVP, VXML, virtual server environment, Architecture process experience (e.g. architecture planning, versioning, road mapping, architectural decision making)
This individual will have the following types of responsibilities:
Leading technical design work to develop new solutions and implement new features Serve as subject matter expert to other technical members of the program Partnering with Business Architecture on the development of strategic plans.
Gaining and maintaining an understanding of the current and future state of audience needs in relation to the UC platform. Helping business partners to understand scope, risk, and cost of requested capabilities.
Maintaining a horizontal view across multiple business lines to streamline capability requests as appropriate.
Acting as a point of contact for other technical areas to ensure the alignment of strategic plans.
Creating architectural decision documents and/or Statement of Work (SOW).
Transforming business need into high-level target architectures and logical design.
Creating Strategic planning artifacts (e.g. Context Diagram, Package Diagram, Component Diagram, and Deployment Diagram). Expertise in implementing CVP/ ICM Troubleshoot issues which are highly complex Self-Starter and works tasks to completion Able to navigate Cisco BU and TAC to resolve issues in a timely manner
