Role:Solution Architect with Cognos Reporting

Duration: Longterm

Location: New York

Implementation: Mahindra Satyam

Duties and Responsibilities:

Need knowledge of Congon TM1

• Design, develop, co-ordinate, implement and support end-to-end Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions.

• Gather Business requirements, data analysis, create mapping documents and conduct code reviews.

• Perform source to target data mapping.

• Design and manage physical and logical data models of enterprise data warehouses, data marts and operational data stores.

• Create and maintain technical and project documentation according to the established standards.

• Work with Business Analysts, Data Base Administrators and System Administrators.

• Install, set-up, configure, and tune Cognos and MSBI Business Intelligence and Data Services product suite.

• Create, test and migrate Extraction, Transformation and Load (ETL) processes to load clean data from multiple source systems to support enterprise data warehouses, data marts and operational data stores.

• Develop, test, migrate and maintain Cognos reports and dashboards.

• Design, test and migrate jobs, work flows, data flows and develop custom functions using Cognos and MSBI

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science or Engineering

• Overall around 10 years experience that must include recent architect, administration, development & implementation experience of Cognos Reporting, Analysis & Dashboard design tools.

• Strong technical knowledge of Data Warehouse architecture, principles & techniques.

• Strong business analysis, system analysis, analytical, decision making, problem identification & solving skills.

• Strong SQL Programming skills & solid knowledge of database design & usage (preferable ORACLE, SQL Server).

• Excellent written & oral communication skills with some previous experience of interfacing with end-users.

• Experience in Media domain preffered.

• Consolidation of multiple DW is an asset.

• Architecting HR and Finance solutions is an asset.

Gather, review and write requirements submitted by business users and subject matter experts to deliver to the BI developers.

• Liaison between the lines of business and the BI Development teams

• Review business priorities, and analyze options, risks, and costs.

• Scope and participate on new projects that impact BI.

• Scope and participate on new projects that impact Mortgage Banking strategic data environments.

• Lead facilitation of workshops with business users to drive requirement gathering/definition sessions.

• Assist the development team during design and build activities; represent the interests of the business users and IT developers during design and prototype reviews.

• Quality test new reports prior to deployments.

• Identifying enhancements to improve current MBMIS processes

• Support the landing of new data and reports in ICDW.

• Identify data sources, coordinate data feeds from external sources and develop, or coordinate the development of reports, queries, forms and screens to meet process and information needs of business partner.

• Create and analyze data queries and performs root cause and other analysis on data moving to ICDW.

• Coordinate and participate in test execution to ensure data has been properly landed in ICDW.

• Follow through to ensure resolution, responding to users inquiries, requests for assistance and needs, and providing user information and training as requested
