Job Title: Sr. Project Manager/Program Manager - Must have Big 4 Experience (Deloitte, PWC, KPMG, and Ernst Young)

Location: Simi Valley, CA

Duration: 12 Months

 

Responsibilities:

1.       Evaluate new business initiatives in terms of implementation effort, complexity, risk.

2.       Engage with clients for scope management and project sequencing.

3.       Review projects in-flight for technical or system synergies and, where efficient, drive additional work into the release schedule.

4.       Manage and enforce Claims its Software Development Life Cycle. 

5.       Enforce and enhance IT policies, procedures, templates for efficient and effective execution, as well as compliance with audit.

6.       Focus like a laser on full resource utilization for analysts, developers, testers

7.       Align project deployments with various constituent teams (i.e. Production Support) on effort

8.       Manage day-to-day activities for a team of 8-10 project managers, balancing work across skill sets and escalating issues as appropriate.

9.       Mentor team of 8-10 project managers, providing challenging assignments and career growth.

10.   Provide rollup reporting of departmental status.

11.   Effective and targeted communication and presentations to varying levels of the Organization.

12.   Other duties as assigned by management

 

Requirements:

1.       A bachelors degree

2.       12+ years of project management and resource allocation experience on software implementations.

3.       10+ years of management experience.

4.       Experience with fast-paced environment.

5.       Commanding knowledge of SDLC, RUP, and Rational.

6.       Well versed in project management related software packages, including MS Project and SharePoint Services and MS Word/Excel/Visio/PowerPoint.

7.       Ability to remain organized while managing multiple projects and priorities.

8.       Ability to synthesize and escalate issues for resolution, as needed.

Job Title:  Sr. Systems Engineer / Communications Systems Engineer, SENet

Location: Irvine / Westminster, CA

Duration: 12+ Months

 

Project objectives:

 

Our Irvine Smart Grid Demonstration (ISGD) project is being designed to meet the following objectives:

1.       Quantification of Smart Grid costs and benefits in terms of overall energy consumption, operational efficiencies, and societal/environmental benefits.

2.       Validation of SCE's Smart Grid vision to provide measured results that are scalable to other heavily populated regions of the country.

3.       Verification of the viability of Smart Grid energy technology in an integrated environment involving eight specific sub-project areas (to be described in the following section on Project Approach).

 

Description:

1.       An essential element of ISGD is the Secure Energy Network (SENet). 

2.       Our team will develop and demonstrate the end-to-end management of a complex high performance telecommunication system linking the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) to the SCE back office, to field networks and to energy smart devices in the home. 

3.       This network will incorporate military grade cyber-security systems and it will provide a unified architecture for intra and inter-utility telecommunication. 

 

Position Requirements:

1.       The SENet Project is looking for communications systems engineers to participate in requirements development, design, specification development, integration and test planning, and certification and accreditation for command, control, computers, and communications (C4) systems interfacing with electric utility systems.

 

Qualified candidates must meet the following criteria:

Education:

1.       A BS degree in engineering is essential. 

2.       Masters degree in engineering is preferred. 

 

Training:

1.       Industry training in systems engineering practices based on a documented methodology is essential.  Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification is highly desirable.

2.       Computer System Security Professional (CSSP) accreditation is desirable.

 

Experience:

1.       Ten years' experience working on some combination of information technology, communications, and/or electric utility systems in an engineering functional capacity (e.g. requirements development, design, test and evaluation, interface management) is required. 

2.       Experience working on hardware/software project teams is required. 

3.       Familiarity with object oriented software design, XML, and services oriented architecture is essential. 

4.       Experience with IEC standards 61968 and 61850 and with the electrical energy industry is HIGHLY desirable.

Job Title:  Business Project Manager

Location: Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Duration: 7+ Months (Possibility to 18 months)

Rate:  DOE

 

Required Skills:

1.       3+ years direct Project Management experience (leadership role)

2.       Strong knowledge of project tools for management, tracking, reporting.

3.       Knowledge of how SCE manages projects.

4.       Knowledge of SCE IPSEC processes (in particular some DC&M and/or Transmission knowledge)

5.       Previous work on SCE applications is a plus (some combination of AUD, SAP, DM, Click)

6.       Knowledge of SCE business processes in either DC&M or Transmission (could be obtained by having worked previously on SCE development efforts).

 

The MPP responsibilities are as follows:

1.       Create the BP&TI Project Plan which includes the approach to managing the client side of SDLC:

2.       Lead development of Impact Assessments, working with resources for ensuring Process Flow updates are done in a timely manner, working directly with SMEs and Training leads on Training plans and inputs, Communication Plans and Integration with project information, User Testing plans and Script development direction and management, Stabilization plans and coordination of activities.

3.       Create and manage the WBS for the BP&TI deliverables (timeline and resource loads for the above) (The IT PM will manage the IT WBS)

4.       Create/update the BP&TI side of the project status reports

5.       Facilitate team meetings to review IT supplied design documents, confirm business requirements, resolve issues and document outcomes.

6.       Follow formal Change Request process for client requested changes

7.       Ensure SMEs/Team resources are working according to plan, priorities are established statuses are updated

8.       Create and manage the client test plans, ensure scripts are developed in timely manner and quality reviews are performed  

9.       Create and manage the client triage plans

10.   Work with Training to develop and manage the training development and deployment approach  

11.   Work directly with Debra and her M&E team to integration with the ongoing M&E activities consult of scope, quality, Change Requests

1.       Demonstrated experience using the Rational Suite of tools.

2.       Good interpersonal skills

3.       Be an effective communicator

4.       Have minimum three years' experience in IT., ore is preferred.

5.       Nice to have - SCE experience.

6.       Nice to have - IT TDBU experience.

 

Requirement: 6

 

Job Title: IT Project Manager

Location: Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Duration: 7+ Months

Rate:  DOE

 

Skills Required:

1.       Have relevant, recent IT PM experience at SCE (1 year min).

2.       The person must have managed an IT project supporting TBDU sometime in their recent (1-3 years) past work experience.

3.       Have familiarity with SAP notifications, orders and the Project Systems Module of SAP.

4.       The person must have decent communication skills - good listening skills - speak with authority and can be understood by most people.

5.       The person must have some experience in SCE work processes including creating pre-sows, planning SOWs, design SOWs.

6.       Some experience working with the various flavors of the CCI.

7.       Experience working with e-Mobile Timekeeping systems.

 

Requirement: 7

 

Job Title: Project Systems Analyst

Location: Rosemead, CA

Duration: 7+ Months

Rate:  DOE

 

Skills:  8+ years of demonstrated IT exp; Rational Requisite Pro; MS Project; Visio; SCE and/or IT TDBU; knowledge of electrical engineering in the area of TDBU (i.e, smart grid)

 

Required skills:

1.       Must have eight years of demonstrated IT experience extracting business and systems requirements using different methods and by interacting with non-technical to extremely technical users.

2.       Must be capable of understanding vast amounts of technical data and interpret same to fit the needs of various audiences, i.e., translate to non-technical users or adapt to extremely technical audiences.

3.       Must have previous experience as an analyst supporting an IT project manager (within SCE would be a plus).

4.       Must have effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

5.       Must have Rational Requisite Pro skills.

6.       Must have advanced skills in MS Project.

7.       Must have intermediate-level Visio skills.

8.       Nice to have - Presentation skills

9.       Nice to have - experience with SCE and/or IT TDBU.

10.   Nice to have - knowledge of electrical engineering in the area of TDBU (ie, smart grid)
