PeopleSoft Functional Business Analyst/Consultant

Purpose of Role:

The PeopleSoft Functional Business Analyst will provide support on process reengineering efforts, using their expertise to leverage as much as much PeopleSoft 9.1 delivered functionality as possible.  This role will team with the track leads during process blue-printing sessions, combining HR best practice, SHC requirements, and PeopleSoft capability. 

Role Responsibilities:

·         Play an integral role in all aspects of a PeopleSoft HRMS upgrade from v8.8 to v9.1, including reengineering, standardization and streamlining of processes.

·         Assist track leads with conducting meetings, interviews, reviewing documents, developing and administering surveys, composing reports and project plans, coaching functional areas in best practice as it relates to PeopleSoft 9.1.

·         Guide blue-printing process sessions with the track leads, end users, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to define and document business requirements.

·         Research, investigate and perform strategic analysis on process requirements, standards, and regulations.

·         Evaluate configuration options to leverage PeopleSoft delivered functionality, identify required configurations and customizations to PeopleSoft HCM to meet business requirements.  This will include evaluating current customizations for elimination or conversion. 

·         Translate end-user requirements into PeopleSoft-specific configurations and/or customizations.

·         Support documentation efforts for requirements, design and use/test cases.  Validate this documentation against business processes using various test scenarios to ensure requirements capture the business needs. 

·         Ensure non-PeopleSoft systems have requirements mapped and vetted to optimize table usage and interface capabilities flexible enough to evolve with the business needs in future iterations.

·         Act as liaison with the functional and technical teams to manage process change as required by upgrade, assisting of mapping of functional design to technical design.

·         Participate in data mapping sessions (Validation, Clean-up and Mapping data from the PeopleSoft 8.8 to 9.1 environments) with the technical team.

·         Work with functional leads to outline process changes impacting documentation.

·         Manage day to day operational aspects and scopes of projects which have been assigned to him/her.

·         Communicate progress, status, risks, and deviation from goals to project team.

·         Transfer knowledge throughout the assignment to ensure transition of process.

Skills

·         Ability to think and work independently.

·         Ability to apply creative and analytical thinking skills to resolving problems and setting a vision.

·         Ability to explore alternative methods to resolve issues and improve processes.

·         Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

·         Ability to thrive in a fast paced team environment.

·         Strong subject matter expertise in HR business processes including Core HR, Payroll, Org/Position management or related functions.

·         Solid project management skills, including planning, time management, team leadership.

·         Understanding of project phases, project methodologies and project status reporting.

·         Strong background in business analysis, including the execution of all steps involved in the implementing PeopleSoft features and functions.

·         Strong verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to interface with all levels of the organization – technical, functional, and business.

Minimum Experience

·         4 yrs. Experience PeopleSoft HRMS 8.8 or higher

·         1 yr. Experience PeopleSoft HRMS 9.x

·         2 yrs. Experience with Position Management, People Model, Organizational Structure or equivalent

·         2yrs. of PeopleSoft Reporting, PS Query, Crystal Reports, etc.

·         3 yrs. - Requirements Analysis / Functional Design

·         5 yrs. working with HR systems and HR processes

·         2 yrs. process engineering and mapping

·         HR Systems upgrade experience (at least 2 major upgrades)
