Position: Sr. Microstrategy Lead consultant
Location: Woodlawn, MD
Duration: 6 months, scope for long term.
§ Provide thought leadership and hands-on involvement in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of MicroStrategy objects
§ Transform business requirements into report designs and create or drive creation of High Level Design and Low Level reporting design documents.
§ Provide development leadership to other team members including offshore based resources with responsibility for delivering reporting as defined.
§ Participate in test planning and test script definition.
§ Work with the development teams to ensure adoption of MicroStrategy Architecture standards, patterns, and best practices.
§ Work hands on in creation of metrics, attributes, filters, reports, and dashboards
§ Work hands on in delivering reports and dashboards via both web and Mobile (iPad) platforms
§ Participate in development of high-level estimates in support of business case development
§ Strong Analytical skills and understanding of data sourcing and data quality.
§ Minimum 5+ years experience in MicroStrategy architecture, designing and building MicroStrategy solutions
§ Minimum 2+ years experience in Mobile (iPad) based solution delivery
§ 9 + years experience in IT, preferably in data warehousing and business intelligence
§ Thorough understanding of Data Warehousing architectures, techniques, and methodologies; including Star Schemas, Snowflake Schemas, Slowly Changing Dimensions, and Aggregation Techniques
§ Good knowledge of SQL
§ Working understanding of relational database platforms; specifically Netezza
§ An increased level of autonomy is expected in delivering projects end-to-end without guidance
§ Solid verbal and written communication skills are expected
§ Oracle Bi Enterprise Edition experience (OBIEE) a plus
§ B.S. Computer Science or related field
