Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills  "Work with other Linux/UNIX admins to install, build, configure, patch and support numerous landscapes of physical and virtual SLES Linux servers.

 

Ensure high availability of Linux systems through ongoing monitoring of performance and capacity

 

Compile/report/trend monthly statistics on the SLES Linux landscape to Infrastructure management

 

Document and streamline existing manual processes via scripting

 

Follow all existing change management, incident management and compliance processes

 

Investigate, identify and resolve critical incidents through the use of analytical, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and tools.

 

Install and maintain the operating system and related software products.

 

Provides periodic reports to users and managers of systems status.

 

Experience on SUSE LinuxSystem Administration Configuring/Troubleshooting LVM, NFS, NIS, DNS, Multi-Pathing,

 

EMC Powerpath,Performance Monitoring.

 

Configuration/Troubleshooting Experience on SUSE Cluster.

 

Experience on Veritas Volume Manager & VeritasNetbackup in with Linux OS.

 

Install and configure SLE 11 knowledge.

 

Basic kernel crash dump debugging experience .

 

Nagios ,CUPS,SUSE Autoyast deployment,Strong SUSE/Linux support or administration,Strong shell scripting experience (bash, ksh).

 

Program debugging skills (C, C++, shell scripts) ,Xen virtualization ,Heartbeat/Pacemaker high availability clustering

 

Experience with multiple storage technologies: Hardware & Software RAID, LVM, DRBD, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, DASD, Multipath.

 

Knowledge of Korn/ BASH/ Perl shell scripting required.

 

Kernel update/understanding,RPM Packaging and Linux OS (Suse 10x/11x) & AIX Administration/Support.

 

Working knowledge with SUSE Linux OS Updates. "

Must be able to operate well in a team environment and when under pressure

 

Strong knowledge in UNIX/LINUX environments running Oracle DB, SAP etc

 

Drive problem resolution to root cause

 

Implement best practices and procedures for key Unix Technologies

 

Front ending customer / front office meetings for technical and SLA related discussions

 

 

Experience on Solaris or HPUX would be added advantage

 

Knowledge of Storage Administration
