Sr. Netezza Developer

Location: Houston, TX

Duration: 6+ Months

 

Key Responsibilities:

** Participate in functional and technical design sessions with project team members and business users

** Translate business and functional requirements into data warehouse solutions.

** Contribute to the detailed estimation of development work

** Contribute new ideas to improve the design and functionality of the data warehouse

 

Qualifications:

** Industry experience in web advertising industries or experience developing solutions for web-industry based BI solutions.

** 4+ years' hands on development experience on Netezza and Teradata or Oracle.

** 2+ years experience with a 3GL programming language (C or C++ preferred, Java, C# are also acceptable.)

** 4+ years' experience in SQL

** Extensive professional experience with Regular Expression (REGEX)

** Proven professional experience transforming web logs into database structures for use in a data warehouse. Candidates that do not have experience with web logs need to have solution experience in transforming unstructured or semi-structured data sources into a relational database structure.  Or candidates that have design and/or developed solutions in pattern recognition / matching.

** Experience with third normal form and dimensional designs.

** Strong solutions experience and a track record of designing solutions to meet business needs.

** Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to pick up new technologies quickly 

** Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.

** Ability to work with other team members including Data Architects, ETL Developers, and QA members.

** Bachelor's degree, or higher, in one of the following: Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
