I have a Senior Engineer - Android Developer position in Milpitas, CA. Below is the job description. The need is immediate and the client is ready to hire ASAP.
Job description:
Sr. Engineer, Systems – Client Engineering
We have an immediate opening for a Sr. Software Engineer in our Client Business Unit. This position is expected to meet the demands of our customers and internal staff with accuracy and speed. Our ideal candidate will be accustomed to working in a fast-paced, high production environment, coupled with the dedication to provide outstanding levels of customer service and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
• Provide hands-on development for multiple simultaneous projects, such as UMTS version of UMA Client SW
• Establish the technical direction of the Core Client SW Products and mange the existing and future versions of the software
• Train new employees on local Milpitas engineering team and on outsourced off-site engineering entities to reduce ramp up time. This will take form of documentation and direction that help
describe the complexity of the UMA/GAN system and our client integration
• Communicate updates to the team and ensure that engineering processes are being followed
• Execute tasks on time without compromising quality
• Travel to customer sites to provide technical education on Kineto product offering.
Requirements:
• Advanced Degree, MS in Computer Science or EE
• 5+ years previous experience with technical engineering management of successful mobile handset projects (especially software)
• 8-10 years of telecom systems software architecture and design experience (with wireless)
• Ideal candidate would be a technical leader in current and future direction of the handset industry as well as a respected handset development manager. Understanding of mobile phone
software architecture (stack and application) is required
• Must demonstrate solid understanding of GSM/GPRS stacks for 2.5G/3G mobile stations. Experience with UTRAN protocol desired
• Strong C programming skills including familiarity with a wide variety of software development tools and practical development methodologies. Experience with SDL is highly desired with equal
hands-on Android SDK/NDK application development experience
• Experience in developing client software and/or porting third party application like WAP browser into handset is desired
• Experience in handset protocol and application testing is desired
• Ideal person will be a self starter, with the ability to own and drive projects
• Must have strong communication and time management skills
• Must have the ability to think strategically (see the bigger picture)
• Prefer someone with strong personal management skills, with the ability to mentor engineers
• Android SDK/NDK preferred
• iPhone IOS Development preferred
