7. Environments: UNIX Systems ( AIX -- 5.3/ 6.0 Linux -- RH-5.4 /5.5 ) 8. Database Tools: SQL Loader, SQL Plus, Data guard, RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Grid Control

 

Job Requirements:

Looking for a candidate with 7+ years of Production Database Administration experience with Oracle: Responsibilities includes Oracle database upgrades and migrations on multiple platforms consisting of Oracle release's 9i, 10g, and 11G. (using advanced technologies like Data pump, flashback), This candidate will be supporting the Hardware Refresh migration efforts here at SCE and will be expected to perform some of the following task of an Oracle administrator: RMAN backup/recovery, security administration, OEM-Grid Control installation and configuration, deep knowledge of Unix shell scripts and Perl scripts, troubleshooting at all levels, performance monitoring and tuning (stats packs, AWR and ADDM reports), database propagation, capacity planning, product evaluation, consultation with developers on technical issues, database design, and systems analysis.

 

Typical Responsibilities:

Demonstrate experienced with application-specific database design and stored procedure, and triggers development.

Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and supporting Oracle database environments for Quality Assurance, User Acceptance Testing, Stress Testing and Production.

Demonstrated experience designing and implementing all database security to ensure integrity and consistency among the various database regions.

Must have understanding of migration strategies and disaster recovery testing.

Demonstrated experience implementing and oversee all Oracle database code deployments and changes to the database environment to ensure proper change management processes are adhered to and documented.

Ability to perform operational procedures and maintain records, develop and test production utilities and capacity analysis.

Must demonstrate strong interpersonal and time management skills and ability to communicate issues and work in a team oriented environment toward. In addition, this position requires participation in a 24/7 on-call environment.

As a senior Oracle DBA you will be expected to perform the following duties in support of the Hardware Refresh Project. Assume a leading role in support of the database environments. Proactively monitor server health and performance using state-of-the-art tools and technology to ensure high availability and reliability of the DB application environment.

Provide single point of contact support for an environment that consists of Oracle 9I & 10G and 11G in a production environment. Provide production support, stored procedures, troubleshooting, system sizing, system integration, and upgrade strategies, as well as platform migration, monitoring backup jobs, free space and performance. Proactively foster best practices with development groups and other users. Work with developers to identify and resolve potential production impacting issues.

Work with business to gain an understanding of business data requirements and, in turn, integrate business vertical operational data needs into the physical enterprise data model.
