Position Title: Business Analyst - Dalhart Facility
Division: Operations
Department: Dalhart Administration - Finance
Classification: Exempt
Reports to: Direct report responsibility to Dalhart Site Manager, dotted line responsibility to the Director of Information & Analysis
Supervises: No supervisor responsibility
Job Summary:
Responsible for the accounting and management support of the Cheese and Whey plants of the Dalhart Division through the use of business knowledge, analytical skills and technological experience to enhance operational opportunities in the Dalhart Facility. This will be accomplished by using structured analysis principles, business process modeling, developing technical/conceptual designs and effective communication with business stakeholders.
Competencies
• Work closely with HCC Business Analysts and Accountants as primary on site contact.
• Work with area managers to develop and understand annual budgets
• Act as project leader for the onsite Operational and Administrative budget development and ongoing monthly monitoring. Monthly budget review meetings to be set-up as needed.
• Develop and implement ad hoc business monitoring reports for local site managers.
• Support business and technical staff in troubleshooting operational issues.
• Provide site management with analysis on down graded production analysis, plant yield analysis, and direct material usage analysis.
• Lead in the development & enhancements of the site Scorecard report. Lead the monthly/weekly site scorecard meeting with the Management team to provide an overview of plant operational
and financial performance trends.
• Computer Proficiency well above average.
• English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write and speak English.
• Promote Company Culture.
Training Competencies
Safety
• Annual completion of OSHA Regulatory training.
• Completion of all required HCC safety training.
• Completion of all required Food Safety and GMP training.
Leadership
• Must be able to communicate with management in a simple convincing manner.
• Works together with all departments in order to achieve the common goals of the company
• Help educate managers and others in utilization of business information and tools
Technical Knowledge Requirements
• Must be highly proficient with Excel and or other database analysis application tools.
• Experience with the use of analysis tools, and or data modeling tools to assist in management decision making will be important.
• Strong knowledge of Operational Processes, if not already present, must be attained rapidly.
Qualifications: Education & Work Experience
• BA/BS degree that included classes in accounting, advanced mathematics, and operations management. Master's degree is desirable.
• Actual work experience should include business finance & breakeven analysis, profit modeling, analysis of plant costs & yields, and management reporting.
• Ability to identify business opportunities and have communication skills to bring people to action.
• Ability to work independently with self-starter attitude and be equally effective working in a collaborative environment.
• Dairy industry experience is desirable.
