Position : PLSQL with strong Netezza
Duration: 3-6 months
Location: Collegeville, PA
Job Responsibilities
· Works independently as an experienced Oracle PL/SQL developer writing stored procedures.
· Works independently as an experienced Netezza developer with responsibilities for coding, testing as well as in a lead role guiding others with the same responsibilities.
· Provides technical consulting and leadership in identifying and implementing new uses of information technologies, which assist the functional business units in meeting their strategic objectives.
· Acts as technical resource to lead Delivery staff in all phases of the development and implementation process.
· Prepare estimates for project work.
· Oversees the technical direction of design and development to ensure alignment with architecture, business requirements, and industry best practices.
· Enforces the utilization of accepted methodology and tools in a disciplined manner, which may include execution of key technical reviews at project gates/milestones.
· Directs Development Life Cycle.
· Represents the Delivery team at all meetings.
· Identifies and communicates issues appropriately.
· Ensures that all deliverables assigned to team members are completed according to planned dates, and with quality.
· Supports and promotes the reuse of assets/artifacts
· Creates project documents as needed
Technical Knowledge
· Conversant with all aspects of Oracle data extract and load process.
· Conversant with all aspects of Netezza loading NZLOAD and NZSQL
· Good understanding of the Netezza architecture
· Able to understand query plans.
· Conversant with Netezza optimization techniques
· Knowledge of Netezza specific best practices
· Have solid understanding of Distribution, Zone maps, MVIEWS and be able to use them appropriately
· 3+ years of hands on SQL experience & Stored Procedures handling big data extracts.
· 2+ years of hands on Netezza experience
· Knowledge of ELT best practices
· Able to weigh options between ETL and ELT.
