DESCRIPTION:
Oracle DBA position that would work in a team of DBAs, application staff and infrastructure staff. Candidate would be expected to be able to design, perform Oracle installations as well as tuning on various platforms. This is client facing position requiring project management skills.
Working administrative knowledge of Oracle databases ranging from version 8 to 11G. This would include installation, configuration and tuning. Candidate must be able to estimate memory and disk requirements for new installations and predict needs based on a current environment. Experience with Oracle on multiple platforms including Windows and Linux. Linux would be the primary platform. Linux administration skills required for database support. This is a client facing position so the candidate must have the ability to communicate well and perform project management responsibilities. Candidate must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Assist with strategic direction setting and decision making relating to Oracle Database technology. Partner with Application Development teams on database usage, PL/SQL best practices and application tuning. As member of a team of DBAs, administer, maintain, develop, document and implement policies and procedures to ensure the availability and integrity of all Oracle databases. Develop, document and maintain procedures for patch loads, data backups, restores, performance tuning, and configurations of all aspects of an Oracle standalone, RAC and dependent Application Server Environments
This position must be aware of the relevant business and related technology industry trends
